The main visual element in this cartoon is that there is a father and a daughter. The daughter is grumpy and she is asking if she can outsource her homework to India. Her father is annoyed and is not allowing his daughter to outsource her homework. The issue this cartoon is regarding is that there is too much outsourcing going on and businesses are taking advantage of how cheap labor is in developing countries like India or China. The cartoonist does not like the fact that there is too much outsourcing; this is due to the fact that the father is not allowing the girl to outsource her homework. This relates to our study of globalization because outsourcing is the action that is causing globalization to occur. The cartoonist could have made this cartoon more persuasive by keeping this cartoon as half of the picture and on the other half incorporate Indian children working very hard. Though globalization may seem to have a negative effect, our world has been sculptured around globalization.
