INTRO/OVERVIEW:
Hello this is Avi Singh with CNN World History News at seven. We are here in NEW DELHI to talk to you about the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War occurred from 1959 to April 30, 1975. This war was fought in Southeast Asia. The two main forces in this war were North Vietnam, and South Vietnam. North Vietnam was the Communist Force with Viet Cong, Viet Minh, China, Khmer Rouge, Soviet Union, North Korea, and Pathet Lao as allies. South Vietnam was the Anti-Communist Force with the United States, South Korea, Australia, Philippines, New Zealand, Khmer Republic, Thailand and the Kingdom of Laos as allies. During this war over 1.4 million troops were killed, only 6% of those were US troops. Jake.
