Feedback Jan. 7-11

You can trust the truthfulness of what we read in To Be a Slave for a few of reasons. The main reason is because there is a bibliography in the book that shows that he gathered the information from reliable sources. When I say reliable sources, I mean sources like the Library of Congress, where a lot of information is exported. (Lester 159-160) The second reason is that I have heard of some of the information from this book in different places, such as the movie based on a true story, Blood Diamond. (Lester 31) Thirdly, Julius Lester was a professor in the University of Massachusetts and he taught African- American history. (Faculty) Lastly, some of the sources in the book were people who were slaves themselves. (Lester 35) This truly shows that we can trust the truthfulness in To Be a Slave.
