Unhappy Immigrants, Unhappy Residents
Conflict continues to occur in New York City
New York City: The migration of Europeans coming to New York continues. Hundreds of immigrants are stuffed in steam boats and journeying to America. The travelers have come seeking a new life and a job to make a living. Many of them are getting irritated because of the environment they have to put up with.
All of the immigrants must be thoroughly examined and if found physically or mentally ill, they must suffer the consequences. As I have heard, if a person is mentally challenged, that person will be sent back to the country he or she came from. In addition to that, all the immigrants go through this examination process for a minimum of about 5 hours. Some have stayed for longer than a day.
Many of the immigrants have been sent to a “police-run poor house” to live in if they have not found a job. These houses are overloaded with immigrants from many parts of Europe. Though these people have passed the examination, now, a lot of them are getting sick. Disease is being spread through the poor houses, and the immigrants themselves can not do anything about it.
A lot of residents are discriminating the foreigners; this is what caused the immigrants to become unemployed. A New Yorker said that the immigrants are getting everyone sick. Natives are making sure that the immigrants are uncomfortable all the time. This results in the hatred between immigrants and foreigners to rise.
