This part of the museum is about the living conditions in a big city like New York. There are a few things you should keep in mind when looking at this specific part in the museum. One thing is that a very famous person named Jacob Riis has a big part in the living conditions in New York. Another thing is that you will see some information about The Five Points Gang, and they are a big part of this museum display. Lastly, Theodore Roosevelt, who most of you have probably heard of, will be mentioned in this museum section.
After observing this museum display, you will get to know who Jacob Riis is, and how he had to do with the lifestyle in New York. You will also learn a lot about The Five Points Gang, and how they helped make the lifestyle in New York what it was. You will also know more about immigrants coming from Europe to the United States. Plus, you will be notified on how those immigrants were treated when they arrived in New York.
There will be quite a few artifacts that we have found that have to do with the living conditions in New York. Just keep in mind that many of these artifacts are from the 1970’s. Hope you enjoy observing the living conditions in New York around the 1970’s.
