Net Effect of the Industrial Revolution

When I saw the pros and cons of the Industrial Revolution, I discoverd that the Industrial Revolution had a larger negative effect at the time, though a positive effect in the long run. For example, at the time, many people lost their jobs. Though in the long run, many people today would not have many of the things they have without the Industrial Revolution.

Pros-

• A faster way to mass produce a commodity.
• Customers need to pay less to get the items they needed.
• If it did not happen, then we would not have any technology/goods in the long run.
• A lot of new inventions were created.
  
• There was a rise of cities.
• New ways to travel (steam boat).
• Some people got good jobs.
• Modernization
  

Cons-

• Many people lost their jobs causing them to get a less or no profit.
• Only rich people could afford to make a factory.
• Factories caused a lot of pollution.
• Limited resources started to become an issue.
• Only some middle class and less lower class members were able to work in a factory.
• Population started becoming a problem.
• Start of the creation of gangs.
• Living conditions were worse, because of diseases, pollution, pressure on resources, poverty, etc.
