Mother Necessity

What "necessity is the mother of invention" means to me is that nothing would have been invented if it was not needed. For example, Alexader Graham Bell invented the telephone because people need to communticate with other people long distance. Another example is that Thomas Edison created the light bulb so that people could see when it is dark. Without the light bulb, no one would be able to see after about nine o'clock pm. The Wright brothers invented the airplane so that people around the world could travel to places in a much fast way. Without mother necessity, we would be living our lives the same as people did more than 2,000 years ago.
