Power

Power is what everyone wants, what everyone needs, yet, it is so hard to get. Power is when one person or a group of people is over ruling towards everyone else. The three main points that was looked at this year that show power was the American Revolution, Imperialism, and the Industrial Revolution.

Firstly, The American Revolution clearly showed power. The British sailed to the United States, and took over there lives. The Americans tried to fight back, but the British were more powerful and did not let them have their way. However, after five years of the British over ruling the Americans, the Americans finally became more powerful, using the Declaration of Independence, or in our class from, the fall of King Coyle.

Secondly, Imperialism is a great way to show power as well. According to my Africa Research Paper, the Europeans traveled to Africa and took over their. The Europeans were over ruling towards the Africans and that is why the slave trade happened. Many slave owners were also a sign of power as well.

Lastly, the Industrial Revolution showed power because it showed how some people were wealthier than others, or how some people were treated better than others. Jacob Riis, first suffered from lack of power in the illegal immigrant houses, but then he became powerful by becoming a journalist and writing about the other power citizens in New York, the police.

Power is a necessity to many people. It can be shown by wealth, reputation, or in some cases, a big fat belly. Power has been shown through out this year but it has mainly been shown in the Conflict, and Imperialism units. Power comes in many forms, but in the end, it shows one person, or a group of people over ruling another person or another group of people.
