Power is what everyone wants, what everyone needs, yet, it is so hard to get. Power is when one person or a group of people is over ruling towards everyone else. The three main points that was looked at this year that show power was the American Revolution, Imperialism, and the Industrial Revolution.
Firstly, The American Revolution clearly showed power. The British sailed to the
Secondly, Imperialism is a great way to show power as well. According to my Africa Research Paper, the Europeans traveled to
Lastly, the Industrial Revolution showed power because it showed how some people were wealthier than others, or how some people were treated better than others. Jacob Riis, first suffered from lack of power in the illegal immigrant houses, but then he became powerful by becoming a journalist and writing about the other power citizens in
Power is a necessity to many people. It can be shown by wealth, reputation, or in some cases, a big fat belly. Power has been shown through out this year but it has mainly been shown in the Conflict, and Imperialism units. Power comes in many forms, but in the end, it shows one person, or a group of people over ruling another person or another group of people.

Avi, I mostly agree with you on this post, but what you have forgotten to mention WHY everyone wants power and WHY the Europeans had the power. One point that I'd like to make is that not EVERYONE wants power. I don't. Anyway, you've done a good job with this post!
I disagree with you saying that everyone wants power. Some people are very shy and would rather be in a crowd than be in charge. I don't want power, I would rather be told what to do than be left in charge and have to pay for the consequences of the actions of the people I would have power over. Would you like to be left power of a group of people and have to pay for their actions?
Good job on the rest though :]
Harriet :]
Avi,
This post is a very good, well though t post. I totally agree with you when you say that power is what everyone wants, but yet it's so hard to get. You helped me realize that imperialism is a very good example of power. Overall, a very good post!
wwadddupp avi,
good job on this post! I like that you defined your defination of 'Power'. I agree with most of what you say...but i do not agree when you say that everyone wants power. Some people don't actually want power becuase it is a hard job. You have the power, it means you have burden on your hands. Kings for example have power...and they are expected to take care of many problems caused to the country, or even expected to do make hard decisions. Other people might take care of it for you, but you make choices. but other than that, good job!
bye avi :)
